FIFA 14 Knocks GTA V Off Top Spot In UK Games Charts
FIFA 14 has knocked Grand Theft Auto 5 off of the UK top spot for video game sales, which is a massive achievement considering that GTA V had broken numerous records after it’s initial takings. GTA V sales are down a massive 82% this current week, even though it made well over £1 billion in the first three days of going on general sale.
The highly anticipated action/adventure title was always going to give the newest edition of EA Sports football title a run for it’s money, but it seems that FIFA is still king and football in the UK is still number one over anything. The FIFA 14 sales are down by 24% compared to last years 13, but this is blatantly due to some gamers either holding out for the PS4 and/or Xbox One version, they didn’t like the demo and therefore decided not to purchase the game, or they spent their money on GTA 5.
FIFA’s rivals Konami, and their PES 2014 installment has not gone down too well either as it lands in fourth place in it’s first week, but the fact that Konami has gotten rid of features instead of adding them hasn’t helped it’s course at all.
