Mobile Downloads Reach 26 Million
It’s just coming up to Christmas in little over a months time, but already EA Sports have announced that their massively successful football/soccer game FIFA 14 has already raked up well over 26 million downloads for the mobile edition of the title. The free-to-play module was introduced this year, and it seems to have payed off for the Canadian based developers.
The iOS and Android versions have been downloaded like there’s no tomorrow, and it’s as popular as ever on the handheld devices.The latest installment was launched on September 24th in 148 countries this year, and it’s already the second highest earner for EA falling just behind the epic Plants vs. Zombies video game.
In a total of 115 countries, it made the list of the Top 10 Grossing Games and the no.1 title in the free-to-play category in all countries. Windows Phone 8 users will also be getting the chance to play the football simulator on their platform too, as EA will be releasing it shortly. An official release date has not yet been disclosed by Electronic Arts thus far, but we should hear word from them regarding the matter in due course.
