Top Goalkeepers In The Championship
Karl Darlow – GK – Potential 79 (Nottingham Forest)
The young Nottingham Forest keeper is making a real name for himself in real-life and he’s well worth the time and money to purchase for your squad. Starting at just 66 overall, Darlow grows to an incredible 79 rating at his absolute peak.
Alex Smithies – GK – Potential 78 (Huddersfield Town)
The Huddersfield Town shot stopper starts out at 67, but he can quickly develop into a find keeper and eventually receive a more than adequate 78 rating.
Top Defenders In The Championship
Adam Henley – RB – Potential 80 (Blackburn Rovers)
The welsh right back was extremely overpowered on last years installment, when players were able to get him to an 84 rating. This year though, he starts at 67 and can reach at his peak a very respectable 80 overall.
Kieran Trippier – RB – Potential 79 (Burnley)
EA got it wrong with this guy, he is showing everybody that he’s by far the best right-back in England’s second tier league. Burnley are currently at the top end of The Championship and with players like this in their locker it’s no surprise. Trippier has got traits that include long throw-in, and early crosser. He starts at a reasonable 71 rating and ends with a 79.
Liam Moore – CB – Potential 78 (Leicester City)
Liam Moore is tipped by many Foxes fans to become the next England centre back of his generation and is rated highly by the FA as well. He starts out at 63, but finishers with 78 which is good and is sure to improve dramatically for next years title.
Jamaal Lascelles – CB – Potential 82 (Nottingham Forest)
Lascelles is an absolute bargain buy and beast! This player should be your very first signing for one reason alone. He starts out with a measly 62 overall rating, and has the potential to grow to an incredible 82 at the top end of his career.
Mitch Hancox – LB – Potential 75 (Birmingham City)
The left-backs are not of high potential or quality in the championship this year as far as EA are concerned. Brums hancox is not a bad investment for the future though and does a good enough job at the back.
Top Midfielders In The Championship
Callum McManaman – RM/RW – Potential 82 (Wigan Athletic)
The player that lit up the FA Cup last year and helped Wigan to win the worlds most famous trophy for the first time in their history. It’s quite a shock to many football pundits that the latics have been able to keep hold of the young and upcoming scouse talent. Anyway, he starts at 71 and can reach a high rating of 82 if played with well in your career mode.
Tom Ince – RW/LW – Potential 84 (Blackpool)
One of the hottest prospects outside the Premier League! Thomas Ince will cost a bit of money at the start of your career, but it’ll all be well worth the cash as he’s an absolute beast winger on the game and develops to a real nice 84 rating come what may.
Anthony Knockaert – RM/LM – Potential 81 (Leicester City)
The Frenchmen not only gets to 81 at his peak, but he quickly acquires a 79 rating after just a couple of short seasons of having him in your locker. His neat dribbling skills and close ball control make him one of the best tricky wingers in the league.
Josh Vela – CM/CDM – Potential 80 (Bolton Wanderers)
If you’re looking for mean tough defensive midfielder that’s sole purpose is to win all the tackles and protect your back-four, this is the guy. When you get him to his reasonably good potential of 80, his aggression reaches a really impressive 95 which makes him a force not to be messed with.
Will Hughes – CM/LM – Potential 83 (Derby County)
Considered by many as the best central midfielder outside the Premier League, Will Hughes is definitely worth buying as he reaches an 83 overall rating. He does develop the slowest out of this entire list, but don’t let that put you off of getting him for your team as he is extremely OP.
Ruben Rochina – CAM/LM – Potential 81 (Blackburn Rovers)
Rochina can play as a CAM of a left sided midfielder, he’s a 68 rated player at the beginning of career mode and can reach a potential of 81 by the end.
Top Strikers In The Championship
Danny Ings – ST/CAM/RW – Potential 82 (Burnley)
The hottest striker outside the EPL as of this moment in time! Danny Ings is by far the most overpowered centre forward in the championship. Buy him if you want a striker to score you goals for fun.
Chris Wood – ST – Potential 84 (Leicester City)
The New Zealand International grows so rapidly you will think there’s a glitch in the game. Having said that, you must play well with him and get a decent match rating after every match you have and the rewards will be there for you to see for yourself.
Jeffrey Schlupp – ST/LB – Potential 79 (Leicester City)
The Ghana born player is quite the utility player, with the ability to play strangely either at left-back or up front as a striker. He’s extremely quick pace and tremendous ability along with his really impressive growth gets him in this list.
Marvin Sordell – ST – Potential 80 (Bolton Wanderers)
The much moved around striker has lost his form as of late, but there’s no doubting that he has outstanding ability. He is the final player to make it onto our list, and he is a great investment is you want an impact player to come on from the bench and score you goals.
