FIFA 14: 5 Players Who’s Stats Will Improve

We’ve decided to compose a list of the top five players who’s stats will dramatically increase for this year’s FIFA 14 installment. A year is not a very long time in football as we all know, but sometimes over the course of one season, some players tend to stand out more than others.

This is a post where we think the five most improved players in their all-round game have to get a mention and be listed. You can leave your thoughts on who you think should have been included in the comments box designated below. Please remember that quite a considerable amount of players would have been left out of this list, but we’ve chosen the best 5 we think have stepped up their game the most.

Michu (Swansea City)

Michu didn’t really excel in his career until he arrived in the Barclay’s Premier League at the start of the 2012/13 season signing for Welsh based Swansea City. On FIFA 13, Michu had only just arrived at the Swans from Spanish La Liga side Rayo Vallecano inwhich he netted an impressive 15 goals in 37 appearances. The season just gone in his EPL debut season, the Spanish forward scored an incredible 18 league goals in 38 appearances.

His rating last year was 75, and you can expect that tally to be considerably increased for the upcoming title.

Christian Benteke

The Belgian arrived at Villa Park last season relatively unknown by many football pundits all across Europe. He signed for Aston Villa from Belgium side Genk for a reported £7M, and ended up notching up 22 goals in 37 appearances for the villains. Benteke’s clinical finishing was pretty much the reason why Villa stayed up and avoided relegation to The Championship.

He signed a new four-year deal for his club on July 19th, which ended much speculation that he was in-fact going to move to another club in the summer transfer window. Benteke had a rating of 77 last year, and his rating will be absolutely superior on FIFA 14 guaranteed.

Raphael Varane

Due to his unfortunate lack of first-team experience and the age factor, Raphael Varane didn’t get a very good rating on last year’s edition with a poor 76. The Real Madrid centre back was voted into the iconic Best Foreign Eleven in the entirety of Real Madrid history due to his ever present tackles and MOTD performances. He made 24 appearances in total last season, and scoring the one goal. His rating will be improved for sure when FIFA 14 comes calling next month.

Robert Lewandowski

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski was extremely highly-rated on FIFA 13 with stats of 83 overall, but this year will see that total increase even more. The Polish international became the first player in the history of the Uefa Champions League to score four goals in a semi-final match of the competition against one of the best opponents in the world (Real Madrid).

The Pole notched up 36 goals for BVB last season, and was heavily linked to numerous Premier League teams and German giants Bayern Munich. Lewandowski’s rating will be dramatically increased this time round, expect it to be in the late 80’s.

Romelu Lukaku

The tall and muscular Belgian international had a terrible 74 overall rating last time out, but that’s about to change leading up to September’s big release. The forward went out on loan to Premier League West Bromwich Albion for the 2012/13 season, and ended up scoring 17 goals in 35 appearances for the midlands club.

His outstanding performances for the Baggies was not gone unnoticed either, as José Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge, Lukaku played the whole of pre-season for Chelsea and scored in most of the games too. He missed the crucial penalty for Chelsea in their European Super Cup final against Bayern Munich though, which then saw him loaned back out to another EPL team in Everton, despite Chelsea saying he wasn’t to be loaned out again.

Despite all of this, Lukaku will definitely get a massive boost of his stats when FIFA 14 is launched on Sept 27! That concludes the list, do you agree or disagree with anything? Get in touch and have your say by using the comments box.
