EA To Shutdown Several Online FIFA 12 Services By March 2014
EA Sports have made an important announcement regarding the online services of three titles in their hugely popular FIFA series. FIFA Street 2012, FIFA 12, and FIFA Manager 12 will all be shutting down the online support and therefore becoming officially old games that are surplus to requirements by the time March hits us in a couple of months time.
This news will anger many fans that still play these titles on a regular basis, but Electronic Arts have defended their decision by saying that the decision has been a very tough one to make. They say that they cannot possibly keep deploying staff to do behind-the-scenes work on video games that are being played on by less than 1% of all online players.
They see it more logical to push these IT and engineering staff members in the direction of the newer titles that everyone seems to be playing as time moves on. If you are one of those players that still enjoys the less newer versions of the worlds most famous football game, then we offer you our condolences, as it’s never nice to lose the ability to play a game you love. However, we can see where EA are coming from at the same time though.
